On December 24, the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering held its annual in-person meeting with the Dean, an event that has become a valued tradition and a key moment of support for doctoral students, particularly those in their first year of PhD studies.
The meeting took place at 16/2 Yangelia Street (former KPI Student Polyclinic), Room 4-08, and was conducted in a face-to-face format, emphasizing open dialogue and direct communication.
Open Q&A Format
The meeting was organized as a question-and-answer session, allowing PhD students to openly discuss the challenges and expectations of doctoral training. Key topics included:
- how to effectively organize PhD studies;
- how to plan and conduct scientific research;
- how to manage academic workload over the four years of doctoral training;
- how to successfully complete and defend a PhD dissertation.
The Dean shared practical advice, personal experience, and strategic guidance on navigating doctoral studies under current conditions, responding to students’ questions and addressing common challenges faced during PhD training.
📸 The event was documented with photographs, including a group photo of the Dean with first-year PhD students, capturing the atmosphere of openness and academic engagement.
Such meetings are an important part of the academic culture of the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering, fostering mentorship, transparency, and a supportive research environment, and helping young researchers build confidence as they begin their doctoral journey.
