Academic Council

The Academic Council of FBMI is a collegial governing body of the faculty, to which the Academic Council of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute delegates part of its powers.

The composition of the Academic Council of the FBMI:

  • MAKSYMENKO Vitaly – chairman of the academic council, professor of the BMI department, professor, Doctor of Medicine.
  • BESPALOVA Olena – scientific secretary, associate professor of the department of translational medical bioengineering, candidate of science, candidate of science, senior doctor of science.
  • GALKIN Alexander – dean of FBMI, professor, D.B.Sc.
  • BILOSHYTSKA Oksana– first deputy dean, deputy dean for educational work, Ph.D., associate professor of the Department of Biomedical Engineering
  • MOTRONENKO Valentina – deputy dean of Educational and Methodological Studies, Doctor of Philosophy, Associate Professor of the Department of Translational Medical Bioengineering
  • GOLEMBIOVSKA Olena – deputy dean for scientific work, PhD in Pharm.D., associate professor of the Department of Translational Medical Bioengineering
  • KALASHNIKOVA Larisa – Deputy Dean for International Cooperation, Associate Professor of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Candidate of Science in Biomedical Engineering.

The powers of the Academic Council of the Faculty include:

  • • determination of the general directions of development of scientific activity of the faculty;
  • • consideration and recommendation for approval of study plans and programs, plans of scientific and methodological and scientific researches of the faculty, including textbooks, study guides, monographs, etc.;
  • • solving issues of organization of the educational process and career guidance work at the faculty;
  • • approval of reports of the dean of the faculty, deputy deans of the faculty according to their areas of activity, heads of structural units of the faculty;
  • • approval of the annual work plan and report on the work of the faculty for the past year;
  • • consideration and provision of recommendations to the Academic Council of the University of recommendations regarding candidacies for awarding academic titles;
  • • consideration and approval of the reports of postgraduate students of the faculty;
  • • consideration and provision of recommendations regarding the budget of the faculty’s expenses;
  • • recognition of documents on professional development of scientific and pedagogical staff of the faculty;
  • • consideration and provision of recommendations regarding other relevant issues of the faculty’s activity.
