On May 20, 2025, the Sikorsky Challenge Additive Technologies Science Park opened at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. It was created as part of the national innovation ecosystem and an example of the university’s transformation into a center of applied science.
The park is combined with the Educational and Innovation Center for Prosthetics and Rehabilitation, which is to become a hub in the field of biomedical engineering, additive technologies, and veteran support. Representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, including Deputy Minister Denys Kurbatov, who emphasized the importance of science parks as a tool for the development of Science City, took part in the opening.
The park works in three areas:
support of engineering startups;
training specialists in the field of biomedical engineering;
creating an inclusive educational environment for veterans.
The project was implemented in partnership with the KOLO Foundation (ADDEX initiative), appflame, EPAM, Genesis for Ukraine, OBRIO, and Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
