Students are trained at the intersection of such areas as biomedical engineering, physical rehabilitation, medicine, biosafety and computer science. The training of students is based on the application of bioengineering, instrumentation, biomechanics, robotics, biomaterials science, as well as tissue, cellular engineering and nanotechnology for the implementation of reconstructive and restorative technologies, study, development and improvement of means and methods of replacement, restoration and maintenance of the structure and functions of organs and body systems, development and operation of technical means of physical rehabilitation.

Students study traditional manual technologies and master modern computerised medical diagnostic systems. Students study rehabilitation technologies in the field of neurology, cardiology, pulmonology, gerontology, injuries and diseases of the musculoskeletal system and other relevant nosologies: Cerebral palsy, post-stroke conditions, combat injuries, etc. Students study traditional manual and modern kinesiotherapy technologies.

Particular attention is paid to rehabilitation technologies using modern medical diagnostic complexes and systems, including robotic, computerised and wireless rehabilitation complexes. Special attention is paid to biosafety and biosecurity.

Research-based learning is an important element of the educational process. Student training involves the development and improvement of physical therapy technologies.
