The Academic Council of FBMI is a collegial governing body of the faculty, to which the Academic Council of KPI named after him delegates part of its powers. Igor Sikorsky.
The powers of the Academic Council of the faculty include:
- determining the general directions of development of the scientific activity of the faculty;
- consideration and recommendation for the approval of study plans and programs, plans of scientific and methodological and scientific researches of the faculty, including textbooks, study guides, monographs, etc.;
- solving issues of organization of the educational process and career guidance work at the faculty;
- approval of the reports of the dean of the faculty, deputy deans of the faculty according to their areas of activity, heads of structural units of the faculty;
- approval of the annual work plan and report on the work of the faculty for the past year;
- consideration and provision of recommendations to the Academic Council of the University regarding candidacies for awarding academic titles;
- consideration and approval of reports of graduate students of the faculty;
- consideration and provision of recommendations regarding the faculty’s cost estimate; recognition of documents on professional development of scientific and pedagogical staff of the faculty;
- consideration and provision of recommendations on other relevant issues of the faculty’s activities.
