On December 23, 2025, the grand opening of the Educational and Scientific Laboratory of Prosthetics, Medical Rehabilitation and Occupational Therapy of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute took place with the participation of partner-philanthropists – founders of the appflame IT company Oleksandr Pasykov and Yevhen Vyhnan, as well as the Genesis for Ukraine Charity Foundation.
On the basis of this laboratory, the project “Veteran Master’s Degree” is being implemented – training of master’s students of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute among veterans. Specialization – prosthetics engineering.
The opening and presentation of the laboratory’s educational and innovative capabilities were attended by Rector Anatoliy Melnychenko, Vice-Rectors Tetyana Zhelyaskova and Oleksandr Myronchuk, Head of the Sikorsky Challenge Additive Technologies Science Park Natalia Seminska, Dean of the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering Oleksandr Galkin, Head of the Department of Biosafety and Human Health Ihor Khudetskyi.
The prospects for the implementation of the “Veteran Master’s Degree” project were discussed during a panel discussion in the Clust Space smart shelter with the participation of veterans, teachers and representatives of partner institutions, in particular Esper Bionics and Protez Foundation.
The main priority areas of activity were identified:
- strengthening the practical training of future prosthetic engineers;
- supporting the future professional trajectory of veterans;
- further development of the university’s educational and social infrastructure.
